Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research acts as a repository of information and provides consultancy on agriculture, horticulture, resource management, animal sciences, agricultural engineering, fisheries, agricultural extension, agricultural education, home science and agricultural communication. It has the mandate to coordinate agricultural research and development programmes and develop linkages at national and international level with related organisations to enhance the quality of life of the farming community.
ICAR has established various research centres in order to meet the agricultural research and education needs of the country. It is actively pursuing human resource development in the field of agricultural sciences by setting up numerous agricultural universities spanning the entire country. The Technology Intervention Programmes also form an integral part of ICAR’s agenda which establishes Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) responsible for training, research and demonstration of and new improved technologies.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is the leading professional society of chemists worldwide whose main objective is to promote and recognize high quality chemical research and education. It is the world authority on chemical nomenclature and terminology, including the naming of new elements in the periodic table; on standardized methods for measurement; and on atomic weights, and many other critically-evaluated data. IUPAC was formed in 1919 by chemists from industry and academia, who recognized the need for international standardization in chemistry. IUPAC serves the international scientific endeavor in the dual function of a basic science and a mission-oriented Union. It also works towards the resolution of critical global issues that involve every aspect of chemistry, all of which have societal impact. In addition, IUPAC is involved in a wide range of diverse activities that ultimately impact both the chemical profession and society as a whole. The Union is in a unique position to contribute to the central interdisciplinary chemical sciences. Strengthening international chemistry, striving towards inspiring high standards of excellence and relevance in academic and industrial research and promoting the service of chemistry to society and to global issues, these are the visions that shape IUPAC’s activities towards the 21st century.
For almost a century IUPAC has contributed to the diverse and interdisciplinary field that is chemistry. It acts as a catalyst that unites chemists worldwide and we fulfill our mission by fostering sustainable development, providing a common language for chemistry, and advocating the free exchange of scientific information.
IUPAC – International and Unique, advancing Pure and Applied Chemistry worldwide!

Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI)
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute is the country’s premier national Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has served the cause of science and society with distinction through first rate research, generation of appropriate technologies and development of human resources. In fact, the Green Revolution was born in the fields of IARI and its graduates constitute the core of the quality human resource in India’s agricultural research and Institute has all along been adjusting and improving its policies, plans and programmes to effectively respond to the needs and opportunities of the nation. During the fifties, the advancement of scientific disciplines constituted the core programme and provided the base for its fast expansion in the 1960s and 1970s in all its three interactive areas, namely, research, education and extension. Besides basic research, applied and commodity research gained great importance resulting in the development of several popular high yielding varieties of almost all major crops and their associated management technologies, which brought about an unprecedented increase in the national food and agricultural production.

Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT)
Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology is an autonomous institution under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. It was established in May 1991 and it has emerged as a reputed R & D centre for the development of safer, efficient and environment friendly pesticide formulations, bio-pesticides, application
technologies and analytical methodologies. More than sixty technologies have been developed at IPFT and successfully transferred to various agrochemical industries. It has state-of-art laboratories for pesticide quality control as per BIS and CIPAC and is recognized by CIB & RC for Bio-efficacy for pesticides to be registered for domestic use in house hold and for persistence & residue studies. The Laboratory is NABL Accredited as per ISO/IEC – 17025 for the testing of Pesticides (Technical & Formulations), pesticide residues in various food matrices and CWC related chemicals.
